So, just before packing my suitcase and organizing bags for flying off to Slovakia, a quite note to show you these:
Yeah, it's been yet another calm knitting weekend, so inbetween drowning in Ravelryness and eating and doing laundry, I set my needles on the Crazy pink 6 ply !
Needles : 3,5mm dpns (have you guessed by now, these are the only smallish dpns I own ?!!!)
Size : About a UK womens 4 (I hope, this was a bit hit and miss...)
And now, I have cast on with the moss colourway handpainted yarn from Fyberspates (see last post for photo). I've joined the "mystery november sock" knitalong on Ravelry. I'm quite excited because I've never knit anything like this: for the moment I'm a plain knit or purl girl... I've kept it simple for the moment!
I've cast on 60 stitches because my yarn's heavier than the one used for the pattern.
With a bit of luck, these could be my Mum's Xmas present... thank goodness she still hasn't got broadband set up (moved house end of Sept), otherwise I couldn't write about all this here !!!
On another note, I have found another British handdyer of 100% merinos sock yarn: Jon
He's got some great colourways here. I'm going to the UK for Xmas, I think I'll be passing by here because they stock Jon's yarn. I hope they're understanding and I can come with my suitcase !!!
